[KOMERU Project ~ Tempura Seisei]
Now, tempura restaurant "Seisei" is visited by gourmets from all over the world. This is a special project derived from last year's Yaizu Shizuoka KOMERU Gourmet & Art Tours. The platinum seats with 8 seats at the counter will be reserved exclusively for KOMERU TOURS during the day and evening.
<Sasue Maeda Fish Shop>
Naoki Maeda Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1974. Fifth generation owner of Sasue Maeda Fish Shop.
While attending Shizuoka Prefectural Yaizu Fisheries High School, he worked part-time at fish-related jobs such as working as a recorder at fish auctions. After graduating from high school, he joined a restaurant and began working full-time. He has received inquiries from many chefs, including Michelin chefs from overseas.
<Tempura Seisei>
Owner Takeo Shimura was born in Kanagawa in 1975. He was impressed by the quality of local ingredients at a traditional Japanese restaurant in Yaizu, Shizuoka, and pursued his own unique tempura, opening in 2007. He moved to his current location in March 2021. Foodies from all over Japan visit Sasue Maeda Fish Shop for its tempura made with the best fish.
〈 Experience HIGHLIGHTS 〉
Screening of the short film "FISHMONGER"
I watched the documentary "FISHMONGER" produced by RICE ENTERTAINMENTS and filmed in 2023. Director: Taichi Kimura Producer: MEGUMI.
This film was invited to the Yamagata International Film Festival. Michelin chefs from all over the world visit Yaizu's fish shop, "Sasue Maeda Fish Shop," in search of its techniques. Why? London-based director Taichi Kimura, who is active around the world, will reveal this secret through unprecedented documentary footage.
Sasue Maeda Fish Shop tailors its fish to suit each dish. Even Michelin chefs from overseas line up to use the fish of the genius Maeda. You can learn about his passion for fish and the richness of Shizuoka's nature. The excellent exchange between Maeda and Shimura is also one of the highlights.
