Enjoy Kyogen at Misogi Shrine
Hokuto City in Yamanashi Prefecture overlooks the Yatsugatake Mountains in the Southern Alps and is blessed with abundant water, food and history.
It is also a rare area in the world where you can taste the world's finest wine, whiskey, and sake.
The festival will be held at Misogi Shrine, which is located in a place that can be reached in 90 minutes from Tokyo.
We have prepared a special program for you to participate in the Kyogen performance only.
Misogi Shrine shares the practice and virtue of misogi, a secret Shinto ritual, with everyone.
Misogi means to become "clean."
Misogi Shrine is a shrine that is crowned by the ancient Shinto main shrine, and its "Shinmei-zukuri main hall" and "Kiso cypress Noh theater" are unique facilities in the world.
Come enjoy a taste of traditional Japanese culture with a performance of Kyogen by Mr. Tanro Ishida, a Noh performer of the Izumi school of Kyogen. You can also enjoy the stage of “Nohgakuden”.
(To be conducted in Japanese and English)
